CACHE Annual Meeting

Thursday, May 17, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

All are invited to attend the seventh annual meeting of CACHE, the Coalition for Arts, Culture and a Healthy Economy in Medford.  CACHE is a nonprofit organization made up of a coalition of over 20 different cultural institutions in Medford who collectively advocate for the arts in Medford and work together to make the community more vibrant through events, projects, and collaborations with local businesses.

The guest speaker will be Tracie Konopinski, Program Director for MassCreative, which works to increase public funding for arts and culture, ensure arts education for every child in Massachusetts, preserve creative spaces, and make arts and culture a prominent issue in all elections in the Commonwealth. Konopinski will talk about important developments in arts funding statewide and nationally and how to collectively contribute to arts advocacy movements throughout the country.

CACHE was founded in 2010 as a way to bring the diverse cultural organizations of Medford together to discuss the state of the arts in Medford, share experiences, and network. Today, CACHE is behind three main events in Medford: Arts Across Medford, a month of free or low-cost arts, cultural and historic events throughout Medford in October; Circle the Square, a summer street festival held in Medford Square; and the Mystic River Celebration, a free arts festival at the Condon Shell featuring live music, artist vendors, local food, public art, and activities for all ages.
