Middle School Chameleon: Youth Pride Prep

Middle School Chameleon, the Medford Public Library’s drop-in group for LGBTQIAP+ youth and allies in grades 6 to 8, meets in Bonsignore Hall. Today's topic is Youth Pride prep. Come chat, connect, do fun projects, and play games in a safe, open, and welcoming space. No one is required to disclose any aspect of their identity in order to be part of the group.

The Medford Family Network is teaming up with the Medford Housing Authority to offer "My First Game," a reading enrichment program that also focuses on building social and emotional skills for children in grades 1 to 3. Arts Collaborative Medford is hosting a Tea Towel Printing Workshop led by Medford resident Christine Willis. Explore creating patterns using repetition and overlapping shapes with found objects like bottle tops, cardboard, forks, wine corks, or even fruit and veggies. Let your imagination go wild as you swap objects with other participants to personalize your fabrics as much as you want. Night Club headlines tonight's live music at Deep Cuts, supporting their new digital album “Masochist.” Night Club is Emily Kavanaugh and Mark Brooks, a dark electronic duo formed in Los Angeles in 2012. Touching upon themes such as mental illness, loneliness and revenge, their self-released albums have helped them build a cult-like following. Also performing will be Rosegarden Funeral Party and Delores Galore. Tickets are $23 in advance, $25 day of show through Dice.

Music Together Class

The Medford Recreation Department presents a nine-week Music Together class for children ages 1 month to 5 years. Taught by Mystic Valley Music Together, the classes are playful, rich and engaging and help children discover their inner music-maker by playing with the grownups they love. Classes will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesdays from April 24 through June 19. Cost is $220 for residents, $240 for non-residents. Register through the Medford Recreation website.

Tufts University occupational therapy students lead the program through virtual reality (VR), an immersive experience that allows you to watch a video while simultaneously feeling as if you are in that environment.
