Carroll’s Restaurant is hosting a reading and discussion with Medford resident Susan Penta on her first children’s book, The Seat by the Window. Penta, a retired second-grade teacher, wrote and illustrated the book, which is a true story of an old woman who reflects on the beauty of life when she observes a spider weaving an amazing web outside her window. The woman, Susan’s aunt Ethel, follows the life cycle of the spider as she reflects on her own life.

Book purchases ($19.95 including tax) and personal signings will be available following the reading.
