Faith and Film at Sanctuary UCC

Friday, December 20, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Sanctuary United Church of Christ concludes its fall Faith and Film series “Mortality at the Movies”— films that explore the value of life through the vantage point of death. Thought-provoking and often funny, these films remind us that while dying is a part of life, it need not keep us from living well. Attendees watch a current film, followed by a discussion about themes of morality, faith, and humanity led by local theologians and community leaders.

In this film, a young George Bailey, overwhelmed by family obligations and a sense of responsibility toward his community, feels tied down to a company he never had an interest in working for, and a life he never wanted to live. As he ages, he sees his youth, dreams and opportunities pass him by.

Bring your own beer, wine or soda. Space is limited. For reservations visit the Faith and Film web page.

Note: While Sanctuary’s license provides inexpensive access to a wide range of current and big-studio films, the church is limited in its ability to market the film title outside of its own network.  Please call 781-395-3360 or e-mail office@sanctuaryucc.org for the title of this month’s film.

Cosponsored by the Medford Film Collaborative. Attending the film is free, but a freewill offering will be collected; the suggested donation is $10 per person.
