Letters to Medford Screening

Saturday, September 12, 2020 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

As part of CACHE’s Circle the Square event, the Medford Historical Society & Museum invites you to view a screening of the 2016 production of “Letters to Medford” by Two Roads Performance Projects. The play was inspired by a “Letter to Future Medford 2055” that the historian Charles Brooks wrote in his “History of Medford” book in 1855. See the main hall of the Historical Society transformed as history and the present collide when Charles Brooks, Lydia Maria Child, and Lucy Osgood confront the archivist who wants to protect their history, and meet Medford teens who remain anxious about what the future holds for them. Featuring Matthew Arnold as Rev. Charles Brooks, Nicole Howard Garick as Lucy Osgood, Melissa Bergstrom as Lydia Maria Child, Joe Juknievich as Adam the Archivist, Molly Weinberg as Emily Hall, and Julia Talbot as Taylor. The link to the screening will be posted on the Facebook event page at 1 p.m. on September 12.
