Magic Circle Theater at Tufts University is presenting five performances of “Stronger Than Strong: Great American Tall Tale Heroines,” a comedy by Brian Guehring directed by Betsy Goldman. It is a delightfully fun story of traveling sales folk who want to create and sell the most powerful strength elixir this side of the Mississippi. In order to find the most potent ingredients they travel to Tennessee, New Orleans, and the Wild, Wild West to meet three young women who are famous for their strength — both physical and mental. Sally Ann Thunder Whirlwind Crockett, Annie Christmas, and Slue Foot Sue share their stories, and the secret ingredients that contribute to their legendary strength!

Remaining performances are at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, and at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 2.

Magic Circle Theater is New England’s oldest theater by and for children. In session for six weeks each summer, the company consists of young actors in grades 6-9, meeting to rehearse, construct scenery, create costumes, and perform.
