Meet Laura Ingalls Wilder
Wednesday, August 16 @ 7:00 pmFree
Beloved children’s author Laura Ingalls Wilder is brought to life in this first-person interpretive program, featuring a visit with Mrs. Wilder circa 1894. Historian and lifelong Wilder scholar Melanie Stringer presents the real Laura—pioneer, teacher, farmer, mother, journalist and author. You’ll meet Laura Ingalls Wilder as she, husband Almanzo, and their little “prairie Rose” are en route to a new home in the Missouri Ozarks.
Melanie travels extensively across the U.S. for the dual purposes of presenting these and other educational programs while conducting extensive research into the lives and experiences of the Ingalls and Wilder families. She is particularly occupied with exploring Laura’s ancestral connections within New England, and is currently working on her first book, “Folks Back East: Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Ancestors in New England.”
This program is for adults and children.
