Queer of Color Criticism and Performance

The Consortium of Studies in Race, Colonialism, and Diaspora at Tufts University presents its fourth annual workshop, a day-long event bringing together scholars and artists working at the intersections of race, sexuality, and performance to consider the creative practices of minoritarian subjects in the pursuit of pleasure, community, health, and survival.
The schedule includes the keynote address, “Diasporic Divas: Working Sex, Transing Biography,” by Juana Maria Rodriguez of the University of California, Berkeley, and two panels – “Get Well Soon: on class and disability” (moderated by Nishant Upadhyay of UMass Dartmouth) and “El Amor…: erotics, ecstacy, and the body” (moderated by Dasha Chapman of Hampshire College.
Evening performances (at the Oberon Theater in Cambridge) will be by Victor I. Cares, NIC Kay, Queen JP, Jayden Jamison, and Emphesyma Menthol One-Hundreds.
