Chevalier Theatre welcomes stand-up comedian and actor Russell Peters for a stop on his Deported World Tour. Peters, the first comedian to get a stand-up special on Netflix, brings a unique and sometimes controversial brand of humor to his shows. This one will feature all new material, including plenty of Peters’ signature audience interactions. A native of Toronto, Peters cites George Carlin as one of his biggest influences.
Peters won a Peabody Award and an International Emmy Award for Best Arts Programming for producing the Canadian music documentary “Hip-Hop Evolution” (2016) and won a Gemini Award (Canada’s version of the Emmys) for Best Performance or Host in a Variety Program or Series (the 2008 Juno Awards).
Tickets are $49 to $59 through the Chevalier Theatre website/Ticketmaster. Tickets also may be purchased at the Chevalier Theatre box office, which is open on Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m., as well as two hours before every Chevalier Theatre show.
