The Tufts University Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies invites you to enjoy a live-streamed performance of “Silent Sky,” a Lauren Gunderson science drama directed by Bridget Kathleen O’Leary. “Silent Sky” is the true story of Astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, the first person in history to measure the universe. During a time when women were rarely given the opportunity to do their own research and make their own discoveries, Henrietta and the women at the Harvard Observatory made some of the most significant contributions to astronomy and had major impacts on how we see the world and our place in it. “Silent Sky” celebrates their strength, curiosity and drive while delving into the questions: Who are we? Where are we? Why are we?
