Chevalier Theatre welcomes the legendary singing groups The Temptations and The Four Tops.For over 50 years The Temptations have prospered with an avalanche of smash hits and sold-out
performances throughout the world. The band is most notable for its success with Motown Records during the 1960s and ’70s and has sold millions of albums, making them one of the most successful groups in music history. The group, whose hits include “The Way You Do the Things You Do” and “My Girl,” was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and has had 15 No. 1 singles and 17 No. 1 albums. Current members are Otis Williams, Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Larry Braggs and Willie Green.
The Four Tops were among a number of groups that established the Motown Sound heard around the world during the 1960s. Their first Motown hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving,” made them stars. Their No. 1 hit songs include “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” and “It’s The Same Old Song.” In 1990, with 24 Top 40 pop hits to their credit, The Four Tops were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Current members are Abdul “Duke” Fakir, Ronnie McNeir, Lawrence Payton Jr. an Harold Bonhart.
Tickets are $39 to $79 through the Chevalier Theatre website/Ticketmaster. Tickets also may be purchased at the Chevalier Theatre Box Office on Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m., and two hours before any Chevalier Theatre show.
