The Vision Festival

The Vision Festival, a highlight of New York City cultural life for 23 years, is making its first-ever appearance in the Boston area, at Tufts University. Social justice is an overriding theme, examined through revolutionary music, art, and thought. The multidisciplinary event will feature performances by legends of Free Jazz including William Parker, Matthew Shipp and Andrew Cyrille, and a lecture/performance by renowned theorist Fred Moten.

The performance schedule:

6:30 p.m. – Matthew Shipp, Michael Bisio

7:15  p.m. – Revolution/Resurrection: Patricia Nicholson, Jason Kao Hwang, TA Thompson, Bill Mazza

8:10 p.m. – Fred Moten

8:40 p.m. – William Parker, Rob Brown, Fred Moten, Steve Swell, Andrew Cyrille

The event is free and open to the public.
