Tufts Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

Tuesday, January 22, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Each year, Tufts University hosts a celebration honoring the life and work of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year’s event is titled “A Single Garment of Destiny: Stories of Resilience and Hope” and will begin with students sharing stories of resilience and hope that center on the quote from Dr. King’s 1964 speech at the Methodist Student Leadership Conference. After a light dinner, Tufts welcomes back graduates Christina Greer (class of 2000) and Zerlina Maxwell (class of 2003) for a conversation on the themes of resilience and hope.

The event is being presented by the Africana Center, the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy, Grace Talusan, the Office of the President, the Office of the Provost, the Tisch College of Civic Life, and the University Chaplaincy. For more information please contact chaplaincy@tufts.edu.
