The Tufts University Opera Ensemble presents Opera Through Dialogue, featuring scenes from plays that operas are based on and operatic dialogue from operas. Scenes from Wilder’s “Our Town,” Beaumarchais’ “The Marriage of Figaro,” Shakespeare’s “Much ado about Nothing” and Schikaneder’s Dialogue from “Magic Flute” will be performed, alternating with recorded music from those corresponding operas. Scenes are fully staged and costumed and directed by Carol Mastrodomenico and Thomas Stumpf.
