Words and Music: Historic Women of Medford

Friday, March 6, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

This month’s “Words and Music” program at the West Medford Community Center will celebrate “Historic Women of Medford” and the start of a year commemorating the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. The “Words” portion of the event will feature a conversation with local historian Dee Morris, State Senator Pat Jehlen, and Medford City Council member Nicole Morrell, and other invited guests about the role of Medford women before, during and since the suffrage movement. The “Music” segment of the evening will feature the return of Medford vocalist and concert violinist Janet Casey.

The West Medford Community Center launched Words and Music in 2017. Usually presented on the first Friday of every month (except holiday weeks), the program starts with a discussion on a valuable aspect of the community, followed by a performance by a local musician or musicians. For more information on this and other events, visit the WMCC website or call the center at 781-483-3042.
