Pianist Miki Sawada brings her Gather Hear Massachusetts tour to Medford with an outdoor performance at the West Medford Community Center. Sawada is traveling the 50 states with a piano to perform in community gathering spaces instead of concert halls, to find a shared humanity across political and socioeconomic lines in this divided country. After tours through Alaska and West Virginia, she is touring her home state of Massachusetts. She will perform works by Florence Price, Franz Liszt, and a piece written specially for this tour by Boston-based musician Ariel Friedman.
