Poetry Class for Seniors
The Medford Council on Aging is creating a book of poetry featuring the poems of seniors age 60 and over. One way to participate is to attend the weekly Book of Poetry Class at the Senior Center led by published poet Robert Castagna. It meets every Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Seniors also may submit poems at the Senior Center office, or by email to Robert Castagna at rwcastagna@yahoo.com. The Medford Council on Aging presents its weekly Country Line Dancing class for seniors, beginners and beyond, led by Julie Kaufmann. Country line dancing is a fantastic activity for older adults. It offers a fun way to stay active, improve coordination, and socialize. It's also easy to learn — many dances are designed to be simple and repetitive, making them accessible for beginners. No partner is needed for the class. Cost is $3.

The Medford Council on Aging presents a Latin Dance Class for seniors led by Judit Gaspar. Among the dances to be covered are the Cha-cha, Samba, Rumba, Salsa, Merengue and Tango. No partner and no experience necessary. The class will be offered again on at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 19. The program is funded by the E. Cotton Rawls Jr. Foundation.

The Medford Public Library offers a 3D Printing Workshop for teens in middle school and high school who have not yet completed a 3D printing workshop at the library. Learn about 3D printing and test out the library’s 3D printers. Please note that because of how long it takes to print, you are not guaranteed to go home with a finished creation. The Medford Public Library invites kids to drop in for its weekly Reading Buddies program. Come practice your reading skills by reading aloud to teen volunteers. Reading Buddies will be available for 30-minute increments and happy to listen to you read whatever book(s) you'd like.
