This month’s Granoff Music Center Colloquium at Tufts University will feature Patrick Dailey of Tennessee State University in a performative presentation titled “The Anatomy of the Black Voice: Challenges, Peculiarities, and Regional Differences.” A versatile countertenor, HBCU educator, and Black music researcher and practitioner, Dailey will explore aspects of the “black sound” such as performance practice, physical makeup, historical figures, teaching styles, and communal influences using a wide variety of musical genres.
