Tufts MLK Celebration: Quest for the Bread of Love
Wednesday, January 26, 2022 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
FreeTufts University invites the community to its annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, being presented virtually due to COVID-19. This year’s theme, “Quest for the Bread of Love: Radical Community Care,” is based on the 1967 sermon, “A Knock at Midnight,” wherein King proclaims: “When you stop hoping, you’re dying. … In the midst of this hopelessness men and women reach out for the bread of hope. Then, that is the quest for the bread of love. Everybody needs this bread.” A panel discussion will feature local activists Dr. Makeeba McCreary of the New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund, Imari Paris Jeffries of King Boston, and Tufts student leaders Amma Agyei and René LaPointe Jameson.
This event is free and open to the public; register on the Tufts Chaplaincy website.
