Brooks Estate Fall Open House
Saturday, October 15, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeThe Medford-Brooks Estate Land Trust (M-BELT) is hosting a Fall Open House at the City of Medford’s historic Shepherd Brooks Manor, a perfect follow-up to the Brooks Family Art & Architecture talk taking place at the Medford Public Library on Wednesday, October 12. Shepherd Brooks Manor is located at the end of the access drive at the Brooks Estate (275 Grove Street). Manor tours and an update on M-BELT activities will be given (last tour starts at 3:30 p.m.) Refreshments will be served. Donations are welcome and can be made via the M-BELT website.
The Brooks Estate was first settled in about 1660, and was transformed into a Victorian summer retreat by Peter Chardon and Shepherd Brooks. It is graced by two fine Victorian buildings: the Shepherd Brooks Manor and Carriage House (1880), both under restoration. The Brooks Estate is owned by the people of Medford and has been permanently protected for the current generation and generations to come. M-BELT is the community nonprofit membership organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of this historic and open space asset. For more information, visit the M-BELT website.
