Solomont Speaker Series: Jodi Kantor
Wednesday, October 11, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
FreeThe Solomont Speaker Series at Tufts University presents a conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jodi Kantor on what it takes to break today’s top stories and the future of news media. An investigative reporter for The New York Times and best-selling author, Kantor, along with Megan Twohey, broke the story of three decades of sexual abuse allegations against Harvey Weinstein in 2017. They won the Pulitzer Prize for public service, among other honors, for their outstanding reporting and their work to help ignite the #MeToo movement.
Kantor co-wrote “She Said” recounting the Weinstein investigation, later inspiring the Golden Globe-nominated 2022 film. Her reporting on poor working conditions at Amazon, automated scheduling systems at Starbucks, lack of support for working mothers, and other critical topics has had a wide and lasting impact on the industries and people they affect. The film version of “She Said” is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
The program is free and open to the public. Register via Eventbrite.
Cosponsored by the Tisch College of Civic Life, Tufts Film & Media Studies Program, Political Science Department, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program, Tufts CIVIC, and the Tufts Democrats.
