The West Medford Community Center invites you to its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Celebration at the St. Raphael Church Parish Center. The event offers a community-wide opportunity to discuss, teach, and reflect on the legacy of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. The program will focus on The Journey to Beloved Community, commemorating Dr. King’s journey as a champion for peace and justice. The guest speaker will be Darryl Owens, a retired special officer of the Boston Police Department. There will also be roundtable discussions, light refreshments, poetry, music and dance. This is a free community event. Donations help support the cost of the event. Presented in partnership with St. Raphael Church, The Heywood Foundation, Wegmans, Medford Community Media, and the City of Medford’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Registration is required; reserve a spot through Eventbrite. The event also will be broadcast live on Medford Community Media.
