All the way from Germany, Ginger Wade (vox/guitar) – the brassy blonde with a punk rock attitude and an oversized voice to match – makes her Medford debut at The Porch. Spawned from New York City’s RiotGrrl underground, Ginger has evolved into a global nomad with a scratchy acoustic guitar, her style spanning catchy pop tunes, swampy blues, and primal rock ‘n’ roll. Ginger studied classical and jazz piano until the day that she bought her first electric guitar to form a band with a pair of teenage girlfriends. “The Harlots” were active in the RiotGrrrl scene and played in venues throughout New York City. Since then, in addition to performing as a solo singer/songwriter , Ginger also performs with folk punk trio The Leroys , accordion/guitar duo Ladies Rock Night, sings for the stonkerpunk band BRONTIAK , and is the bassist and keyboardist for Reu Bruhn Combo.
