Exhibition Closing: Lakota YouthStay – New Experiences, Clarity of Vision

Tuesday, July 30 @ 9:00 am - 9:00 pm

Free

Today is the final day to view the July art exhibition at the Medford Public Library, “New Experiences, Clarity of Vision,” featuring photographs, art and crafts by the eight participants in this year’s Lakota YouthStay cultural exchange program. Since 2017, Oglala Lakota youth from the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota have visited Eastern Massachusetts each summer as part of the Lakota YouthStay, founded by Medford resident Joy Harris. Over nine days, this year’s participants had the opportunity to experience the ocean with a day at the beach and Spectacle Island, explore a tidal pool on Cape Cod, attend the Mashpee Wampanoag annual pow wow, tour Tufts University, visit the New England Aquarium, see a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, and get creative with photography, arts and crafts, and sculpture workshops.
