The Tufts Departments of Music and Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies invite you to join DC’s queen of the blues, Carly Harvey, for a performance/lecture on the Native American origins of blues music. With a fusion of history and performance, Harvey engages audiences first with Native American melodies, then embarks on a journey of how blues was created, from African American experiences pre- and post-Civil War, how it has evolved over the years, and how it influences modern day music.
