Cabaret
Friday, March 7 @ 8:00 pm
$20The Tufts Department of Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies presents the fourth of six performances of “Cabaret,” a modern-day interpretation of the 1966 Broadway musical at Balch Arena Theatre. Set in the waning years of the Weimar Republic on the verge of Hitler’s catastrophic rise, Cabaret entertains, engages, and terrifies. At a volatile moment in our nation and the world, how will it speak to you? What lessons are there for us about the spread of fascism, bigotry, and complacency? Can this iconic musical inspire constructive dialogue and help us find common ground? General admission tickets are $20 through the Tufts online box office. One hour before this performance only, there will be a pre-show discussion with director Barbara Wallace Grossman, choreographer Holly Stone, and invited guest scholars in Alumnae Lounge, also in Aidekman Arts Center.
The final two performances of “Cabaret” will be at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 9.
