This month’s art exhibition at the Medford Public Library is “Surrealist Art Show” featuring the work of Chris Rose, a painter and visual artist from
Medford. Although in his art practice he draws mainly from life, for this show Rose has brought together a selection of works that are abstract,
non-representational, or surreal. They were made over a span of years, with different methods and meanings in mind, rather than as part of a series. They are unified by a delight in lateral thinking and a belief that art can communicate ideas that could not be conveyed through language alone. Rose’s work will be on display in the library’s second-floor gallery throughout March during regular library hours.
