The West Medford Community Center presents its monthly “Words and Music” program, this edition dedicated to the Lakota YouthStay program.

The “Words” portion of the program will highlight the Lakota YouthStay program, which connects 10- to 15-year-olds from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota with hosts in Medford for a week of exploration, building friendships and engagement through shared activities of interest.

The “Music” will be provided by Elliot Johnson and the J Street Blues Band.

The Community Center launched Words and Music last summer. Offered the first Friday of every month, the event starts off with a discussion on a valuable aspect of the community, followed by a performance by a local musician.
