Library Movie: The Princess Bride

Library Movie: Mr. Malcolm’s List

The Medford Public Library continues its winter series of free movie screenings with "Mr. Malcolm's List" in Bonsignore Hall. When a young woman gets rejected by London's most eligible bachelor, Mr. Malcolm, she convinces her friend to play the role of his ideal match. Soon, Mr. Malcolm wonders whether he's found the perfect woman or the perfect hoax. Registration is required through the library's online calendar. The series will conclude with "The Wiz" on Saturday, February 18.

Library Movie: The Wiz

The Medford Public Library continues its winter series of free movie screenings with "The Wiz" in Bonsignore Hall. The film is an adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz" that tries to capture the essence of the African American experience. It follows the adventures of Dorothy, a shy, 24-year-old Harlem schoolteacher who finds herself magically transported to the urban fantasy Land of Oz, which resembles a dream version of New York City. Sanctuary United Church of Christ presents a screening of "The Swimmers," a Faith and Film event as part of its winter-spring Arts and Inspiration series IAmMigration. Filmmaker Daniel Weintraub will be on campus at Tufts University for a screening of his film "Deep Listening: The Story of Pauline Oliveros.” Weintraub's new feature-length film traces the life and work of visionary composer, musician, teacher, technological innovator and humanitarian Pauline Oliveros (1932–2016). A question-and-answer session with Weintraub will follow the film.
