Library Movie: Apollo 13

The Medford Public Library continues its winter movie series with a screening of "Apollo 13" in Bonsignore Hall. Directed by Ron Howard, the film is based on the events of the aborted 1970 Apollo 13 lunar mission and stars Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Ed Harris and Gary Sinise. Filmmaker Daniel Weintraub will be on campus at Tufts University for a screening of his film "Deep Listening: The Story of Pauline Oliveros.” Weintraub's new feature-length film traces the life and work of visionary composer, musician, teacher, technological innovator and humanitarian Pauline Oliveros (1932–2016). A question-and-answer session with Weintraub will follow the film.

The Medford Senior Center presents a screening of the film, “The House We Lived In,” with the filmmaker and subject, Tim and Tod O’Donnell, in attendance. A decade in the making, a young Massachusetts filmmaker confronts family, memory and addiction as he chronicles his father’s journey to recover lost memories following a traumatic brain injury. In conjunction with Spring Fling Weekend, Tufts University invites neighbors to campus for a free movie featuring the 1999 romance/comedy "10 Things I Hate About You" (PG-13; running time 1 hour, 37 minutes). Film Screening: Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit

Tufts University invites the community to a Reunion Weekend outdoor showing of the Disney film "Encanto." A computer-animated musical fantasy comedy, "Encanto" won a 2022 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film. Due to the inclement weather in the forecast, the movie (1 hour, 42 minutes long) will be shown in Cohen Auditorium, rather than outdoors on Fletcher Field.
