Grades 4-5 Book Club: Shannon in the Spotlight
The Medford Public Library's book club for fourth- and fifth-graders meets in the Maker Space to discuss "Shannon in the Spotlight" by Kalena Miller. The Medford Public Library is co-sponsoring a talk with artist Ricardo Diseño and writer Steve Mockus about their latest book, “Eerie Legends: An Illustrated Exploration of Creepy Creatures, the Paranormal, and Folklore from around the World.” It's a fascinating and frightening collection of folk tale monsters, ghosts, and other scary things that dwell in the dark. The Medford Public Library's LGBTQ+ Book Group meets to discuss "Pageboy: a Memoir" by Elliott Page. Books will be available approximately four weeks in advance. All are welcome to read and discuss literary and nonfiction works by and about the LGBTQ+ community, from classic to contemporary titles.

Arts Collaborative Medford introduces a monthly Poetry and Song Open Mic Night hosted by Medford Poet Laureate Vijaya Sundaram. Poets, dreamers, and songwriters are invited to bring an original poem, story, or song to read or sing. ACM will provide a microphone and lectern. Sign up on the ACM website. Find out more »STEM Story Time: Story of the Bees and the Flowers
The Medford Public Library presents its first STEM Story Time, "The Story of the Bees and the Flowers, for ages 3 to7. Join STEM educator Kendall Inglese and author/illustrator Yumi Izuyama to learn about pollination. The story will be acted out with kamishibai, or “paper theater,” a Japanese form of storytelling involving illustrated cards. The story time will be followed by a craft.
