Grades 4-5 Book Club: Shannon in the Spotlight

LGBTQ+ Book Group: Pageboy

The Medford Public Library's LGBTQ+ Book Group meets to discuss "Pageboy: a Memoir" by Elliott Page. Books will be available approximately four weeks in advance. All are welcome to read and discuss literary and nonfiction works by and about the LGBTQ+ community, from classic to contemporary titles.

Arts Collaborative Medford introduces a monthly Poetry and Song Open Mic Night hosted by Medford Poet Laureate Vijaya Sundaram. Poets, dreamers, and songwriters are invited to bring an original poem, story, or song to read or sing. ACM will provide a microphone and lectern. Sign up on the ACM website. Future dates (second Thursday of the month) are November 14 and December 12.

STEM Story Time: Story of the Bees and the Flowers

The Medford Public Library presents its first STEM Story Time, "The Story of the Bees and the Flowers, for ages 3 to7. Join STEM educator Kendall Inglese and author/illustrator Yumi Izuyama to learn about pollination. The story will be acted out with kamishibai, or “paper theater,” a Japanese form of storytelling involving illustrated cards. The story time will be followed by a craft.
