The Medford Public Library's Tuesday Night Book Group begins its 2024-25 schedule with a meeting to discuss "Horse: A Novel" by Geraldine Brooks. Books will be available approximately four weeks in advance. The group meets monthly on the second Tuesday. The title for next month's meeting, on November 12, will be "Heaven and Earth Grocery Store" by James McBride.

The Tufts Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies presents a talk with Marwan Kaabour, author of "The Queer Arab Glossary," the first published collection of queer Arabic slang. An independent graphic designer and visual artist from Beirut, Kaabour currently lives and works in London. The program promises to be a lively conversation about language, sexuality, creativity, and pleasure. Free and open to the public.

"Planet and Pages," the Medford Public Library's Climate Change Book Group, meets to discuss "Flight Behavior" by Barbara Kingsolver. The Medford Public Library hosts its second Friday "Coffee and Books" session with director Barbara Kerr. Join Barbara in Bonsignore Hall for coffee and a discussion of the hot new books and interesting titles the library recently acquired. No assigned reading or registration is required. Coffee provided by Chapters Coffee Carts, the nonprofit coffee and snack cart that operates in the library's second-floor gallery.
