Do you read the latest and greatest books about our planet, environmentalism, and climate change and then need someone to talk with about it? The Medford Public Library's LGBTQ+ Book Group meets to discuss "Camp Damascus" by Chuck Tingle. Books will be available approximately four weeks in advance. The Medford Public Library's Tuesday Night Book Group meets to discuss "Remarkably Bright Creatures," a novel by Shelby Van Pelt. Books will be available approximately four weeks in advance. Registration is not required but is recommended using the library's new online calendar. The group meets monthly on the second Tuesday. The title for next month's meeting, on February 11, will be "We Should Not Be Friends: The Story of a Friendship," by Will Schwalbe.

Arts Collaborative Medford presents its first Poetry and Song Open Mic Nights of the new year, hosted by Medford Poet Laureate Vijaya Sundaram. The Medford Public Library is co-sponsoring an "Author Hour in Massachusetts," an online program in which bestselling author Vicki Delany will discuss her new cozy mystery novel, "The Incident of the Book in the Nighttime: A Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mystery."
