This Music (TM) Presents brings another night of jazz at Deep Cuts, featuring the Fall Raye Trio and Tomatillo. Fall Raye is a trans/non-binary saxophonist, improviser, and composer living in Boston. Their work in music is inspired by the trans experience in the U.S., interpersonal relationships, and opposing oppressive global systems. Arts Collaborative Medford presents its monthly Original Poetry and Song Open Mic Night, hosted by Medford Poet Laureate Vijaya Sundaram, with guest poet Thomas DeFreitas of Arlington. His poems have appeared in Dappled Things, Ibbetson Street, Pensive, Plainsongs, and elsewhere. Thomas’s latest collection, “Walking Between the Raindrops,” was published by Kelsay Books in March. Deep Cuts welcomes Christian Death, the highly influential act in the American gothic rock and deathrock movements over the last four decades, for a stop on their four-city U.S. spring tour. Sidewalk Driver headlines tonight's live music at Deep Cuts. The band describes their music as "high energy, highly-infectious, hook-driven, Rock with a capital 'R.' The sound is modern but the heart of the band seems to be more in line with 1970s rock culture -- the Bowies & the Belushis of the world." Also performing tonight: the Rice Edmonston Band and Chalk Talk.
