Friday Activations: Conlon Nancarrow Compositions
Tufts University Art Galleries presents the last of four player piano sessions featuring the boundary-defying work of composer Conlon Nancarrow, in conjunction with the current exhibition "Impossible Music." Nancarrow was one of the first composers to work with “auto-playing” musical instruments, particularly the player piano, because of its ability to perform scores that exceeded human ability. Boston band (T-T)b headlines tonight's live music at Deep Cuts, celebrating today's release of their new album "Beautiful Extension Cord." (T-T)b describes themselves as "deep-fried bitpunk for short attention spans." The trio — Joey Dussault, Nick Dussault and Jake Cardinal — writes music about feelings, TV shows and extraterrestrial life, and they've quickly developed a cult following in the chiptune scene.
