Sensory Storytime
The Medford Public Library presents Sensory Storytime for ages 3 to 7. Explore stories, music, movement, and play in a sensory-friendly and adaptive setting. This storytime is for everyone, but is particularly designed for neurodiverse children — children who are on the autism spectrum, have sensory processing challenges, ADHD, or have difficulty sitting through our other storytimes. Medford Brewing Company introduces its new Folk Music Pub Sing hosted by Red Kovatch and Neight Banx. Come sing traditional folk music of (mainly) America, Canada, and The British Isles, a cappella and with gusto. Sea shanties, drinking songs, mining songs, farming songs, all sorts of songs. Good choruses and great harmony abound. Emphasis on group participation and an inclusive atmosphere. Medford Brewing plans to hold these pub sings on the third Wednesday of every month in 2025.

The Medford Public Library hosts the monthly meeting of its Writers’ Workshop. The group, which usually meets on the last Wednesday of the month, is gathering on the third Wednesday this month due to the Christmas holiday. The Medford Jazz Festival returns to Arts Collaborative Medford for a Winter Jam. This loosely holiday-themed session will feature jazz pianist Jonathan Fagan joined by his longtime mentor Ross Adams on bass, along with newcomer Renato Malavasi on drums. Join Toddler Time at the Medford Public Library and read some excellent books, sing songs, and learn gentle movement activities. Story time is 30 minutes long and geared toward children ages 2-3. After stories and songs, all are invited to join a mini-play group too.

The Medford Council on Aging has re-formed a group for LGBTQ+ Seniors. All are invited to a meet and greet today with Janice Cole, group facilitator, and help plan and execute this group, which meets on the third Thursday of each month from 2 to 3 p.m. Sign up in advance by calling the Senior Center at 781-396-6010 or just drop in.

The Medford Public Library presents another edition of "Reading with Ryan" for emerging readers. Ryan loves when people read to him. If you are learning to read and want to build your confidence, come read to Ryan.
