Chess in Medford Square
The Medford Chess Club invites you to its weekly meet-up in Medford Square, taking place in the second-floor gallery at the library. The club has chess sets, chess clocks, and helpful members to teach you the rules if you're new to the game. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome, but those under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult or mature older sibling. There are no membership dues or fees to play. Have a jacket that needs a patch? Pants that can get back in the rotation with a quick fix? Come to Arts Collaborative Medford's Mending Workshop and learn basic mending techniques from knowledgeable sewers. All sewing materials will be provided for both hand sewing and machine sewing. The Medford Public Library welcomes former Medford resident Judah Leblang to perform “The Expiration Date,” his poignant and sometimes humorous look at life’s transitions: getting older; dealing with faith and the lack of it; trying to outrun Father Time; and wondering what, if anything, comes next.
