Play Dough Club (Ages 2-5)
The Medford Public Library hosts its monthly Play Dough Club for ages 2 to 5. Why play dough? Playing with play dough helps young kids develop their hand-eye coordination, creativity, and fine-motor and literacy skills. And sharing tools and colors of dough helps littles with their social skills, too. The library will provide the dough and tools; all you need to bring is your imagination. Middle School Chameleon and High School Chameleon, the Medford Public Library’s drop-in groups for LGBTQIAP+ youth and allies in grades 6 to 8 and 9 to 12, respectively, are meeting jointly today for a Halloween party. Come chat, connect, do fun projects, and play games in a safe, open, and welcoming space. No one is required to disclose any aspect of their identity in order to be part of the groups.

The Medford Public Library hosts the monthly meeting of its Writers’ Workshop. The group, which usually meets on the last Wednesday of the month, is always looking for new members so join the group to meet fellow writers and get feedback on your work. Dance away your cares as Dance Caliente presents a free Lindy Hop/Swing Fusion Class in Bonsignore Hall at the Charlotte & William Bloomberg Medford Public Library. Dancers of all ages are invited. Founded in 1998 by Eileen Herman-Haase and Raul Nieves, Dance Caliente brings a contagious enthusiasm to their instruction of ballroom and Latin dance forms. Arts Collaborative Medford is offering a Stitch Resist Shibori workshop led by Medford resident and ACM studio artist Christine Willis. In the workshop, you'll explore stitch-resist shibori dyeing techniques and make a one-of-a-kind bandana. With stitch-resist the patterns are created by using a needle and thread to “draw” on your fabric. The stitches resist the dye, creating patterns and color variations. The Medford Council on Aging presents its weekly art class for seniors led by Tom Wojciechowski, a visual artist who works in a variety of media including installation, painting, photography and books.
