Tufts University students compete for the Elizabeth Verveer Tishler Prize in Music Performance. The Tishler Prize, established in 1984 by Elizabeth Verveer Tishler, is awarded on the basis of a competition, open to all undergraduates except those enrolled in the Tufts-New England Conservatory dual degree program. Performance is limited to classical, jazz, or modern work. Elizabeth Muriel Verveer Tishler was born in December 1909. The Medford Public Library hosts its monthly Play Dough Club for ages 2 to 5. Why play dough? Playing with play dough helps young kids develop their hand-eye coordination, creativity, and fine-motor and literacy skills. Middle School Chameleon, the Medford Public Library’s drop-in group for LGBTQIAP+ youth and allies in grades 6 to 8, meets in Bonsignore Hall.
