Tufts Composers present a New at Noon program featuring new vocal settings suggested by T.J. Anderson's 2022 "Three Songs of Life," offered alongside songs, settings, and instrumentals by Julia Cavallaro, Duke Ellington, Eliza Howells, Matthew Seliger, Melinda Tian, Christopher Walton, Yixiao Wang, and guest composer Trevor Weston (Tufts class of 1989). The Medford Public Library invites you to the monthly meeting of its Poetry Club led by Vijaya Sundaram, the City of Medford's poet laureate. The group meets on the fourth Friday to read and discuss the work of great poets, while crafting and performing participants' own work. The Tufts University Youth Philharmonic presents its fall concert under the direction of John Page. Music includes Tchaikovsky's Overture to Romeo and Juliet, selections from Bizet's Carmen Suite, Mozart's Overture to the Magic Flute, and John Williams' "Raiders March" from Raiders of the Lost Ark. It's the last Friday of the month, which means Karaoke Night at Medford Brewing Company. Sing your heart out or sit back, sip a beer, and cheer/heckle your friends as they rock out.
