The Medford Public Library presents a reception with Medford artist Elaina Bates-Egan, whose work is on exhibit in the library’s second-floor gallery through April 29. Bates-Egan’s paintings are rooted in abstract expressionism and explore color, texture and movement while paying homage to the natural world. The series on view, “Transcending Mt. Olympus,” uses the lens of ancient Greek mythology to explore the complexities and nuances of the human experience.
