Artist Reception: Sarah Gerould
Saturday, January 4, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeWashvault Lab, the reimagined laundromat on Boston Avenue, invites you to a reception with Medford artist Sarah Gerould, whose work is featured in Washvault’s first art exhibition, “So Human a Vegetable.” Gerould’s whimsical paintings depict the tales and travails of vegetables as they are away from prying eyes. What happens to the Japanese eggplant when the crisper door is left open? How exactly do onions control their unruly manes? Who comes running when a gourd is injured on the soccer field? Gerould will provide answers to these questions and more at this reception, which will also feature live jazz sax by Peter Cobb.
Gerould’s exhibit, which is sponsored by Medford Arts Center, Inc., will be displayed through February during Washvault’s business hours and special events.
Washvault Lab is re-envisioning the laundry experience along social and environmental touchpoints, offering a new approach to laundry services that prioritizes the user experience. Washvault aims to positively impact the local community, the environment, and its customers through meaningful outreach opportunities and sustainability efforts, including events that bring together Tufts University students and local artists.
