Author talk: Mimi Graney on Fluff

Wednesday, May 2, 2018 @ 7:00 pm

Free

The Medford Public Library welcomes Mimi Graney, author of “Fluff: The Story of an American Icon,” published by Union Park Press in 2017.

At the turn of the 20th century, Boston was a booming candy town. Since that time, the small, family-run company Durkee-Mower has churned out a century of Marshmallow Fluff. Join Mimi Graney as she tells the fascinating story of this American favorite.

Graney will bring the factory floor to life, weaving a narrative about New England’s forgotten candy industry, changing roles for women, the advent of commercial radio and modern advertising, and the supermarket revolution.

Fluff will be served!

Graney is also the creator of Somerville’s “What the Fluff” festival.
