Chevalier Theatre welcomes Jamaican reggae singer Beres Hammond for a stop on his Solid Love Tour, his first Medford appearance. Over a five-decade career, Hammond has poured his smoky-sweet voice — an instrument of subtlety and power reminiscent of an Otis Redding or a Teddy Pendergrass — over every kind of riddim track. Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician MediSun (formerly King Mas) will open the show. Tickets are $40 to $65 through the Chevalier Theatre website/Ticketmaster. Tickets also may be purchased, free of online ordering fees, at the Chevalier Theatre Box Office, which is open on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m., as well as two hours before every Chevalier Theatre show.
