Biographies Book Group: All the Blood Runs Red
Wednesday, November 4, 2020 @ 7:00 pm
The Medford Public Library introduces its new Bimonthly Biographies Book Group, which will be offered the first Wednesday of every other month at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Being discussed today is “All the Blood Runs Red: The Legendary Life of Eugene Bullard–Boxer, Pilot, Soldier, Spy,” by Phil Keith with Tom Clavin.
The book tells the incredible story of the first African American military pilot, who went on to become a Paris nightclub impresario, a spy in the French Resistance and an American civil rights pioneer. Eugene Bullard lived one of the most fascinating lives of the twentieth century. The son of a former slave and an indigenous Creek woman, Bullard fled home at age 11 to escape the racial hostility of his Georgia community. When his journey led him to Europe, he garnered worldwide fame as a boxer, and later as the first African American fighter pilot in history.
You must register on the library calendar to receive the Zoom link: https://www.eventkeeper.com/code/ekform.cfm?curOrg=MEDFORD&curID=460365

The title for the second meeting of this group, on Wednesday, January 6, will be “Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China,” by Jung Chang.
