Medford City Councilor Zac Bears is hosting a book launch event for “The Ends of Freedom: Reclaiming America’s Lost Promise of Economic Rights.” with author Mark Paul, a professor at Rutgers University. Paul, Bears, and Boston College professor Juliet Schor will discuss the need for an Economic Bill of Rights in the United States and how local cities and towns are leading the fight for economic justice from housing to good jobs and a healthy environment.

Paul is an assistant professor at the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers. His book may be pre-ordered through the University of Chicago Press. Schor is an economist and sociologist on the faculty in the BC Sociology Department.
