The Medford Public Library invites science enthusiasts from 10 to 100 to its “Breaking Science” series. Learn about the science and technology you hear discussed on the news, from scientists and engineers who work on the newest discoveries.

The series kicks off with a program on Epigenetics, which is the study of changes in organisms caused by modification of gene expression, rather than alteration of the genetic code (DNA sequence) itself.

Other programs in the series will be on Ebola (July 16), Renewable Energy (July 23), Genetically Modified Organisms, or GMOs (August 13) and Vaccines (August 20).
