FreeThe Medford-Brooks Estate Land Trust (M-BELT) invites you to its 20th annual picnic on the grounds of the historic Brooks Estate. The event includes music, tours of the Shepherd Brooks Manor, M-BELT’s famous raffle, Medford’s MARV art bus with kids’ art activities, and lots of fun
M-BELT supplies the hot dogs, burgers/veggie burgers and soft drinks. Guests are welcome to bring one of the following (chips/snacks , salad, cookies, grill item or other picnic food) but bringing food is NOT required to attend.
Note: Do not park in the Brooks Estate unless you need handicapped parking (Boardwalk lot or up near the Manor). It is best to walk up the access drive from the green gate/blue sign on Grove Street). Guests may drive very carefully up the road to drop people off at the Manor, then go back down to park outside the Brooks Estate. Please note that the second half of the access drive currently is very bumpy! Do not park in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
The Brooks Estate is a city-owned environmental and historical treasure in West Medford that offers Brooks Pond and 50 acres of open space for birds, wildlife and nature lovers. As the manager, M-BELT has spearheaded the protection and restoration of the property, which includes the 1880 Manor and Carriage House. These Victorian gems are under renovation as community assets.
