Black History Month Celebration

The City of Medford invites the community to its annual Black History Month Celebration, which carries the theme “African Americans and Labor.” The program will feature a keynote address by the Tufts African American Foundations and Roots Organization (Tufts AAFRO); poetry by current Medford Poet Laureate Vijaya Sundaram and inaugural Poe Laureate Terry E. Carter; tabletop activities; and song. Lunch will be catered by the Neighborhood Kitchen. The event is produced by the city’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in partnership with the West Medford Community Center, with funding from a Medford Connects Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant.
