Due to Circle the Square activities taking place today at Riverside Plaza, the Medford Chess Club’s weekly gathering will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Rose M. Sloane Garden. The club has chess sets, chess clocks, and helpful members who are willing to teach you the rules if you’re new to the game. There are no membership dues or fees to play.  The Medford Chess Club is organized by Medford residents and led by Jack Elsey. It formed in 2018 to develop an awareness for chess in the new Riverside Plaza through Chess on the Plaza, lessons, friendships and local tournaments.
