The Medford Chess Club’s weekly meet-up is now taking place at the new Charlotte & William Bloomberg Medford Public Library building in Medford Square. Stop by the second-floor cafe area for a friendly game of chess. The club has chess sets, chess clocks, and helpful members who are willing to teach you the rules if you’re new to the game. There are no membership dues or fees to play. The Medford Chess Club is organized by Medford residents and led by Jack Elsey. It formed in 2018 to develop an awareness for chess in the new Riverside Plaza through Chess on the Plaza events in warm weather months, lessons, friendships and local tournaments.

The club will meet at the library until spring, when it will resume meeting at Riverside Plaza.
